ORIGINAL SONG: “Can’t Take My Hope”. I live in East Tennessee and the tragedy of the Gatlinburg fires have really weighed heavily on my heart. I was inspired to write this song not only because this hits so close to home, but I was especially inspired by an interview of someone who lost everything to the fires. I hope this song brings you hope if you are struggling. If I can ask for anything, please PRAY for the people effected by the fires.

LYRICS:
In the blink of an eye
All I’ve had my whole life
Was brutally stolen
Brutally stolen
In the blink of an eye
I see the beautiful sky
Now tainted with smoke, smoke
Surrounded by fire flames try to consume me
And all that I’ve known I see burning before me
You can take everything I own
But you can’t take my hope
You can’t take my soul
I see all the flesh desires
At the mercy of your fires
But you can’t take my hope
You can’t take my soul
If you think I’ll give in
Because of what’s happening
Then you don’t really know me
Because I’m not alone, see
If you think I’ll give in
You don’t see what’s within
Living Water restores me
It restores me
Surrounded by fire flames try to consume me
But I won’t let anger and fear burn inside me
This path I’m taking
Is burning, blazing
But I won’t burn to the ground
This fiery forest like
A million torches tries
To haunt my soul but I know now
You can take everything I own
But you can’t take my hope
You can’t take my soul
I see all the flesh desires
At the mercy of your fires
But you can’t take my hope
You can’t take my soul
